SCHEDULE:

Office hours are primarily weekdays, but responsibilities may occasionally require additional hours and flexibility that can include evenings and weekends.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.  They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of one so classified.

  • Provide financial counsel and customer service to current and potential students and to provide assistance to students through the financial aspects of their registration process and to provide continued throughout the students’ enrollment.
  • Prepare billing for student accounts including preparation of invoices, receipts, financial aid receipts, and refunds.
  • Daily interaction with students to provide them proactive support and information regarding items specific to their accounts, to answer questions, to address problems and concerns, and to formulate solutions where needed, complying with FERPA and confidentiality regulations.
  • Provide assistance to students regarding payment plans and financial planning for each semester (set up, adjustments, etc).
  • Organization of daily tasks and monitoring balances to ensure that funds are received in a timely manner or that appropriate action is taken to minimize balances of accounts are delinquent.
  • Accounts receivable maintenance (current and former students).
  • Collaborate with other departments to register and finalize new and returning students each semester.
  • Documentation of issues addressed with students and other parties
  • Other duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong customer service skills, displaying outstanding oral and written communication skills, and analytical skills.
  • Accounts receivable and collection experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with student accounts billing and financial aid helpful.
  • Experience working with administrative computing software and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all records and data in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills in order to work with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and independence.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in order to meet institutional goals.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Some college preferred
