SCHEDULE:

Office hours are primarily weekdays, but responsibilities may occasionally require additional hours and flexibility that can include evenings and weekends.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.  They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of one so classified.

  • Answers main phone line for the department and triages incoming emails
  • Prepares journal entries as necessary to update student accounts with changes and to correct errors
  • Coordinates purchases of office supplies for the department and serves as point for work order requests
  • Assist students with general account information
  • Prepares and runs daily and weekly reports for distribution to the department
  • Works closely with Registrar’s Office and Financial Aid staff to keep informed of changing policies and procedures and to coordinate on issues that carry across functions
  • Assists with various projects as needed
  • Record/post all monetary transactions, including payments by cash, credit card or check
  • Post receipts to the general ledger for all University Departments
  • Count and/or verify funds received from the bank and balance applicable cash funds daily
  • Prepare bank deposits and order cash to replenish cash drawers
  • Scan checks and receipts daily archive per department policies
  • Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of funds with the University Police Department
  • Maintain petty cash and the applicable reimbursement receipts
  • Communicate with students that Loan checks are ready for signatures
  • Performs clerical duties such as filing, scanning, mail distribution, and other such duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in customer service
  • Experience in cash handling and accounts receivable preferred
  • Experience working with administrative computing software and Microsoft Office products
  • Outstanding telephone skills
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency and independence
  • Proven ability to work in team environment to meet institutional goals
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
