While only half of the tire is visible in the exhibit, this tire stands 13 feet tall and 70" wide. The tire size is a 70/70-57 and it is built by Bridgestone/Firestone. These tire are used on the L-2350, the largest front-end loader, built in Longview by Komatsu Mining Corporation. The L-2350 is a direct design descendant of the machines built by R.G. LeTourneau Inc. and utilizes the electric wheel design.
*This tire display is used by Komatsu employees when speaking to school groups. In a gymnasium, this 13 foot display is fully erected, giving students a sense of just how large these tires are.
